I'm reading one of my wife's books right now until I can get my hands on a few new releases, and I'm kinda the same way. It's called "God's Demon", and as far as I know, it's a complete unknown. I like it, though. Once again I'm amazed at her ability to pick out something I'll enjoy from her collection of books that I largely am not into.
