if men could get pregnant, they would be in the women's place. Whoever bears the children is the designated home-keeper and child-rearer in every society. So if men could get pregnant, that would mean they would be the oppressed ones because they would not have the physical capabilities that allowed them to establish the patriarchy in the first place.

Actually guest the patrarchly we live in today is a relatively new cultural system. For most of the part ancient civilisations were matryacies

Sorry about the last post, what I ment to say is we have only been a patriarchy for a few thousand years, before that we were a matriarchy for much longer. This system we live in now is relatively recent and not a true indication of one genders abilities. We have had strong and well functioning cultures driven by women for thousands of years, these women have birthed children, lead wars, manged civilisations all while having a vagina! Having the ability to produce offspring does not equil oppression, that's a new social constraint solely directed at women because of a desire for control, the vilification of abortion, women's sexuality and even the vagina itself is just another measure of this control.
