How can you tell that from handwriting? Not all girls write good and not all guys write bad.

There's no sure way to know if it was a boy that asked him/her out or girl that asked him/her unless you ask the person who wrote it. However, the handwriting does look similar to how a girl's handwriting usually looks, but you never know.
