Apart from nice scenery and maybe skiing down in queenstown I fail to see why many people come here, I love my country, but it's just a bit quiet in my opinion.

Well, depends on what part of the history you wish to look at, different points in time = different events, personally I would say the civil war and the acts of the IRA had as much an impact as the famine
