I work in a vet hospital and this is actually what one of the doctors prefers the pets to wear after surgery. You should see the looks she gets when she explains this to the owners.

Had to do this to my dog after she got fixed because she kept taking off her cone of shame. We tied it to her collar. She got it off. We ZIP TIED it to her collar. She got it off her collar AND she got her collar off. Turns out she didn't want to lick the area anyways.
