It could work, there would have to be more rules than that but, the concept is great.

So you like the concept of being forced to do something, and otherwise losing money as a consequence?

Not going to the gym and paying for a membership anyway is losing money and paying with your body (if you are in need of exercise). Think of it as... Reinforcement.

That's some very negative reinforcement

Indeed it is, but reinforcement nonetheless.

I'm not sure why you felt the need to tell us that you're a millionaire.

But you're also paying for the days you do go.

A similar but perhaps better idea would be if for each day you go to the gym over a set amount of days, money is deducted from your monthly fee. That way if you don't go, you're not losing money, but if you do go, you gain money you were going to pay anyway.

That would be a horrible idea! Gyms are there because people decide that they want to pay a membership to get fit; some people don't go to the gym everyday, and maybe they decide to take a break for a little bit if they DO go every day. They already have the consequences of becoming un-fit and ruining their body; they don't need to pay a fee for that as well

Basically the post is saying "hey, there should be a membership that forces me to go to the gym everyday or I have to pay the consequences in cash as well as with my body!"

That is the point, it should stimulate the members to go to the gym instead of skipping. I understand your point though.
