They mean ball lightning (I think) and there's several mistakes with this because a)tesla didn't 'invent' it because b) it's not an invention, it's an electrical phenomenon. I don't even think Tesla was the first to discover it.

The only notable thing that most people know him for are his Theory of Relativity and the atomic bomb. Tesla made so much stuff that people don't even realize he made. I.e modern power lines.
How about we celebrate both of them as the great minds they were, and continue to be amazed by the amazing things they've given us, oh, and fuck Edison
