I was always terrible at basic math and bad under pressure. Imagine how terrible timed math tests were. Eventually it got so bad that they took me separate from other kids and tried to give me the test orally. Even worse. I'm pretty okay at basic math now. Other than basic math, I'm pretty smart and creative. Done with all of my required maths by sophomore year.
All I can say is that I recommend learning your math if you are continuing with math classes. Calculators are allowed in math classes for years, right up until you reach calculus. And then they are forbidden the majority of the time. Trust me, there is no time to be worrying about your multiplication tables when you need to find the second derivative of a taylor series and then determine the convergence of the series in the next five minutes before time is called.
