Sounds like Nietzsche and his masters and slaves to me.

I wonder what she'd say if you asked whether Sherlocks and Watsons should live by the same rules.

This gives me faith in humanity. She came into this world unplugged.

I think that's a very inventive idea, and that that little girl clearly has more insight than many others much older than her. But at the same time, I refuse to believe that someone can only be a Watson or only be a Sherlock. I think most people are a mix of the two- and I think that would lead to a healthier look on life. Instead of staying in the shadows, always supporting as a Watson, sometimes you could stand out. And instead of always glowing in the limelight, you could step back and support another. Basically, I think you can be whatever you choose to be, whenever you choose to be it (in a general, non-specific kind of way). Some of the greatest heroes in the history of the world spent much of their lives as Watsons- but when the time came, the situation made them act the Sherlock.

I agree with this. I've been trying to figure out whether me and a few of my friends are Watsons or Sherlocks, and I can't for the life of me decide which ones we are!

I don't see how that was inspirational at all. It just sounds like the sister was a typical egotistical teenager who thought that they were better than everyone else.

I laugh at the pretentiousness of people like this. Young people who think they have life all figured out, yet in acting like such? They show they have zero clue. Wait until they have to get a job and take crap off of all kinds of jerks, pay $600 worth of bills on a $400 paycheck, have a parent grow sick and die, reach their 30's and notice the body aches and pains setting in... then ask them, "Remember how stupid you were back then when you thought you had all the answers?"

How about a young person who Thinks...for themselves. A kid no less when most adults don't. How about a child who's smart enough to get out of the ridiculous indoctrination that at 12 you need to know what you're going to do with your life, so you can be shipped of to University and become a good society soldier. How about a child who stood up and said no, I'm not doing this, instead of writing some bullshit to stay out of trouble. Just because you sound like you'd rather roll over and die, doesn't mean this is pretentious. Far from it actually.
