It's generally not worth the time and energy, though, so unless you really, really piss someone off, or you've got a really, really obsessed stalker, the internet's still anonymous enough.
You could stalk them through their past posts and find personal information. Then if you have enough information, you use Google to find them. Or you pose as a potential friend, contract them, and learn more about them. Or you find places like school or church and image-match with a selfie they've taken, if they've posted one. Or you find someone who knows someone who knows someone who's friends with the website's team and ask them for a favor and get the IP address from them. Or you straight-up crack the site. There's other paths, too. For example, if I track back through your posts, you're pretty good at leaving your personal info vague, so I'd probably try to find other accounts you have online and check for more info there and/or hire some Anonymous members to do the cracking for me. If I didn't mind wasting weeks obsessing over you and collaborating with people I see as internet terrorists, that is. Which I do. It all depends on what you're willing to do.
