Download LMMS(or is it LMMMS) it's free, not very good(not as many options as FL etc.) But you can manipulate sounds etc. It took me a year to actually make proffesionally sounding music but it was worth it.

owl city production screencaps look almost as or more complicated than that there. the talent to put edm together is really underrated
