My history teacher in 7th grade told us that Alexander the Great "really favored his men." In other words, he was gay.
I don't know if that is true but that's what I've been told.

Ancient Greeks made the whores of today look like devout nuns.
Yea, but none of those great men were stuck in a forced paced school for 18+years. they were taught by the best to be even better.

To add some perspective, boys of that age were already considered men during their time periods and had not only the rights of one, but also the respect one would get. You could already marry someone by the age of 14 (It could be 12?) if you were a guy and could legally own property. Perphaps the reason they acomplised so much was becuase they had the resources, knowledge, and enviroment to do so at a young age rather than spending 1/5 of their lives preparing for the world and having far less rights than those older then them. There were 10 year old boy-kings for gods sake, that kind of thing won't fly in most modern day countries. Its not that children have become less productive as time goes on, its that our life spends have lengthened resulting in the decline of efficacy as a whole in our societies.
