She said they banned them because they contained info that opposed Catholicism, so I imagine it's a Catholic private school, so it makes sense. They don't want their students to get any bright ideas and think for themselves.
Yes, because they want to keep their power by having stupid followers who cannot conceive a way that their amazing leaders can be wrong. Keeping them blind is stupid, and a stronger religious belief can be found in those that KNOW of other paths, but choose that religion, rather than someone who has been kept in the dark about the other paths.
Its a religious school, and they want to keep their students oblivious of other beliefs, other than the 'fact' that the followers of those other religions are "damned to burn in hell"

It is not a belief that people of other religions are "damned to burn in hell;" at least not in Christianity...
Ohhhh I see. The commandment that says not to worship other gods means this:
During the time that the Ten Commandments were created, many people were worshipping statues, precious metals, and gems as gods. The commandment was created because people were putting materials before God.
The commandment isn't about needing to be a Christian who worships God or else they are condemned to hell, its simply to keep people from becoming materialistic in a religious way. Common misconception :)
I think there are still plenty of Christians today who would disagree with you.

Ok you all pose fair points.. As a practicing Catholic I am exposed to a lot of extremists and I honestly have a lot of trouble defending them because they leave nothing to defend. Have a nice day :)
A school is supposed to give information, not with old it. If you ban things against catholic belief let the kids read it. Then, they will be able to formulate opinions and think like humans were meant to. Banning books so that your students do not turn away from your belief is just suppression, and will result in more people leave just because of that. Also, you technically admit that your beliefs aren't structurally sound, as you are afraid that a book can disprove your religion. Guess what, catholic school? You are FUCKING STUPID. Never limit information, whether it is a small school limiting young children to a one dimensional though process, to an entire country ban on websites to avoid the spread of the freedom of THINKING. Dear limiters of information, you WILL eventually fall, because it is impossible to keep people in the dark forever. My only wish is that you will meet your end soon. Idk why, as I've never been unfortunate enough to be put into that situation, but I hate it.

That's the worst thing ever
