Remember in 1999 when the Mars Climate Orbiter crashed into Mars because the ground-based computer software which produced output in non-SI units of pound-seconds (lbf×s) instead of the metric units of newton-seconds (N×s) specified in the contract between NASA and Lockheed? This is one reason why NASA switched to the metric system seven years ago.

Actually the Finnish use the Poronkusema, which is the distance a reindeer can travel before it has to stop to urinate
