There's no guarantee these Pokemon will be able to survive at sea level where the pressure is so low.

Okay, I now see that my original comment is a bit confusing. This post suggests that myriads of unknown Pokemon may exist in the deep depths of the ocean, just as our world has angler fish and giant tube worms – real freaky stuff. I was trying to point out that these Pokemon may only be able to survive in extreme pressures and could never exist on land where the pressure is so much lower. That being said, there are many species in our world that can live in the depths and at sea level, like the nautilus and the sperm whale.

maybe its a version of the hunger games? its an enclosed arena and you fight people(trainers, gym leaders)
