world war 2 veteran and preschooler are best friends

I heard about this on the news yesterday. Apparently, the WWII veteran's family is making him move into a senior home. The boy probably won't get to see him much anymore and that's so sad because they really are best friends. They race lawn mowers, play croquet, and the old man teaches the 3-year-old new things. Their relationship is so cute!

How can you make somebody move into a senior home? It seems kinda coldhearted and rude..
