While cats are cute, I prefer dogs. Dogs are always happy to see you no matter what, I don't think I can say the same about cats. One of the many advantages of dogs.
Dogs are TOO happy, in my opinion. I have too mant dogs and I don't like it.

There's no such thing as "too happy". I love it when I come home and my dog is the first one to meet me any day, any time, and under any circumstances.
I have six dogs right now, and I've never been with less than three. I guess I'm just really tired of them.
I don't like it when they greet me when I get home, they claw on my stomach or legs and it hurts.

My cat, Stinky... RIP, knew the sound of my motorcycle and always greeted me at the door. I'd pick her up and put her on my shoulder and cradled her with my arm. I'd actually have to tell her to be quiet cause she'd meow so much when I did. And now I'm crying... Goddamnit.
Edit: I'm a dude...

She also used to play fetch with me and always slept next to me. And she'd even groom me.. lick my hair when I was holding her on my shoulder. And one time when she was a kitten she chased out a full grown stray cat that I had brought up stairs to feed. She was more like a dog than a cat. It hurts.
Your cat sounds like she was awesome!
I only have dogs, and I don't know what I'll do when they leave...
Hold on to the good memories, it only hurts because you love her.

She was awesome. And I do. I love her so much. I don't think I'll ever find another cat like her.
Oh God. We had a cat named Loki (before it was cool) that would play fetch. We gave it to my wife's aunt because at the time, our old apartment had a limit of two cats. Shortly after, it ran away, or at least I hope it did... :(
I've never lost a pet any bigger than a hamster;
I hope my dogs go out peacefully.
Sorry about your cat.

I had to have a cat put down due to liver failure. But I had to be at work and it ate me up that I wasn't there. I was crying intermittently and had to help customers...
