When a woman is in labor it doesn't actually happen like in the movies. You have hours before the baby even comes. So you can have a full meal before you go to the hospital.

My oldest sister was in the hospital, technically in labor, but she was snacking on a burger at 10 PM saying she was hungry.

Haha thats funny they say youre mot supposed to eat before you go to the hospital because of the possibility of pooping while delivering
