Because of glacial movement, powdered rock is mixed with the water. Other water in the park are also brown (from brownstone) and sapphire blue (from lapis lazuli). This stream is mixed with turquoise.

Reminds me of ice. Looks like it was frozen as it was flowing. Just beautiful
If you go to the west side of the park, west of the divide, there is an area with purple rocks and turqoise water. I've never seen anything else like it.
