It is so fascinating to see what a different culture considers normal, compared to something another culture would think totally bizarre.

thanks for not being a douche and not yelling "OMG SO GROSS AND UNCIVILIZED"
I know way too many people who would do that :/
Always interesting to see other cultures and their way of life
I am Chinese and I can verify an explain all the above.
Yes, street signs ARE suggestive and for pedestrians and bikers, even the traffic lights are suggestive. Try to survive and go with the "illegal flow". It's always hard for me to travel somewhere traffically civilized then return unadapted to the chaos again
I've not been to foreign traditional markets but yes, Chinese people do eat weird stuff, as all countries have their respective typical cuisines. For one the Chinese love steamed pig feet. And soft shell turtles. I've never had those because honestly they scare me but I love squid. Try to go to supermarkets for meat though. Traditional markets can be unsafe.
The first change bag says "To the most awesome person" and the second one saya "You take care of the closet and I'll take care of the spoon". Unsure what it means but my guess is that the woman will clean while he the man will work and take care of food (spoon).
(will continue in reply)
Hi again guys. So that weird f#ck the veggies sign...i'm sure ya'll have seen many f#ck (insert food item here) signs as translations from Chinese. Well, the character for "dry" and "f#ck"(the swear word, not lovemaking) is the same in Chinese (干) but with different pronunciations.
The clothing line things is very normal in poorer areas. They have no space for it inside their home, but I don't know how they aren't embarrassed showing their lingerie to the public. I've even seen thongs.
The birds are common too - not just in parks. They're also caged before old shops (cobblers etc) to attract business and/or as a lucky charm (superstition).
Anyway, I know China is (seemly) lawless and wacky and hard to adapt to. I don't like living here so much because the streets are so dangerous, but one could get used to the cheap fake things (Channel instead of Chanel etc, for our amusement, Beats by Dre for half the price with the same audio quality, and many others). You'll find that the t-shirts here will amuse you too. Chinese people have a thing for inserting random English text on shirts. For example I've seen people wear shirts that say "Insert text here" and "F#ck this black jacket" (it was a white t-shirt). I hope you enjoy your stay, and stay alive on our streets of death so we can all Funsub somemore!
