Believe it or not, you can have that exact haircut without shaving a roadway into your scalp..

But then it's not as crisp of a line and it makes it more difficult to comb to the side

And I suppose you are right, but seeing as how I am a black female who's hair isn't as flimsy couldn't possibly know the struggle, I had no idea lol

Both is correct. It's a parting of the hair, as you already know, but it is also just simply called a "part".

It's called a hard part. Some people don't want to shave it in so it's just a side part.
