If I had $60,000,000,000.00 and gave that much away I would still be a multi billionaire. How does this make him any better than the family that makes $75,000/yr and gives $2,000 to charity annually? The pledge to give the money sway after death is nice and all, but this is like the difference between deceased organ donors and living organ donors. Apply some critical thinking here, there is a difference if you give away what you don't need (or no longer need) and doing without so others can have something. The Royals over there seem fond of knighting rich public figures. Did Mandela or Ghandi get knighted? (I really don't know, I would hope so, but I doubt it). Gates has been charitable, he has helped to change lives all over the world but I do not think he is worthy of worship. I am not a Wal- Mart fan because they import more cheap Chinese trinkets into the US than any other retailer. They are condemned by the social justice crowds for underpaying their employees, however they
Donate millions annually to local charities in the communities they do business in. The same people that condemn Wal-Mart herald Gates and Buffet. Take a look at the GMOs and artificial additives that Kraft foods use to bolster profits. That is the money that Buffet will be donating after his death when he no longer needs it. You cannot have it both ways and call the corporations "evil" and their owners "gods among
men". Additionally in keeping with internet meme accuracy the last part says this pact was signed in 2010. Zuckerburg became wealthy in 2012 with facebook's grossly overinflated ipo.
I just don't even know. why you gotta be like this? why you gotta turn a positive into a negative i mean what the fuck have you ever done for anyone else
Really? I didn't say it was negative. I just said not to canonize him, this behavior discourages the little guys from donating time and money. Without the boots on the ground volunteers and organizers all the philanthropy in the world means nothing. I also pointed out a timeline inaccuracy, is that a problem? I pointed out that British royalty favors the filthy rich, as it has for centuries.
I agree with most of what you're saying, but I think that even though Bill gates is rich even after donating so much, still does not take away from his contributions. I agree that there are plenty of people not recognized for their actions, but that is not the purpose behind it, it is to better humanity. Society is flawed, but I am thankful for the people who are working/contributing to improve it.

Circumstances are different for everyone. You're judging based on the fact that he's rich and poor people still donate. At least he's not a rich asshole that doesn't give back to a community or charity. I applaud him for donating so much and even stipulating in his will that most of his fortune will also be donated to charity rather than giving most of it to his children because he wants them to understand the value of working for and earning a dollar.

"Mitt Romney donated millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to charity. He deserves some recognition."
Ah, I was wondering when your hidden agenda would rear it's ugly head.
And Teresa Heinz Kerry, and countless others. I don't give two shits about Gates, but Zuckerberg doesn't fit the timeline the meme gives him credit for, and Warren Buffet is not the man people think he is. What's with your hatred for Romney? You seem to hate a lot (and get plenty in return) on this
site. The truth seems to get lots of hate as well.
Warren Buffet's involvement in the Burger King tax shelter deal yesterday serves to punctuate my statement. He stands to collect the millions that would have otherwise gone into the IRS's coffers.

Welp, can't argue with that logic. You must be some kind of master debater or something.
