Here in Canada we don't have to worry about freedom pulsing from our flags giving us heart attacks, all we have to worry about is that we have enough maple syrup for breakfast
in american schools, every morning the students have to turn to the american flag somewhere in the room and recite "the pledge of allegiance." (if you want to, look it up. its just a short little paragraph saying that you promise to be loyal to the usa). while you say the pledge, you hold your right hand over your heart. sounds weird when i explain it but i and other americans have done it since preschool so its just a regular thing to us. hope i helped!
The pledge of allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, for liberty and justice for all.
