The retail industry

So I work at a six flags amusement park. Today for some stupid reason they had me at a kid ride. I work the photo booth station. So policy is, we close at 8 and the ride closes at 8. Whoever is in line by 8 still gets to ride but the rest can't. So they close the entrance with a sign that says it's closed. But the entrance and exit are on the same ramp only separated by some bars. So I can't leave until everyone's done and the lines already short enough for one or two more rides max. So I'm thinking. Ok I'll be out soon. But no. Every fucking little kid has to run in there on the exit side and jump over the bars to get in line when it's clearly closed. And worse. There's some parents doing the same thing. Just going in where it clearly says exit and hoping the bars. So I'm stuck there an extra half fucking hour because people can't follow rules or read. Proves the stupidity of people on the other side when you work retail. Hell I've gotten questions from people that ask how to get to -

Happened once when I worked at mcdonalds. There was construction around and they shut off the water and we only opened til 11am We put up signs around the doors, drive thru windows, the speaker and gave out flyers for a week that we would be closed for about five to six hours. I went to work that day and manager just had us clean random stuff that usually doesn't get cleaned, organize stuff and stock. There was a big long line in drive thru waiting for their order to be taken. Then they'd pull up to the window or try to open the doors all pissed cuz we wouldn't attend them or cuz the doors were locked. The two other guys I was working with and I were really amazed at how dumb people are not to read a sign telling them that we were closed! -_-
