I still don't understand the modern feminist movements... To be a feminist you must accept the ideology that women are the weaker sex and that they need other women to fight for there equality. A feminist will remove themselves from gender women by creating a subgroup. A subgroup of feminism is misandry. Many women that I have spoken with are proud to be a woman or girl but aren't oppressed. Many with which denounce feminism. So I'm asking the most hated question. Women how have you personally been oppressed against? I mean you. Not some story from the internet or from your area, you.

Your initial statement is incorrect - "To be a feminist you must accept the ideology that women are the weaker sex". No. To be a feminist means accepting women are viewed by some other people as the weaker, inferior sex. Any person - male or female - who denounces feminism (like you say you've encountered) are fools, for even if you are not a victim of oppression, others obviously are. Sexual inequality plainly exists.

If it so plainly exists why haven't I seen it? Is this something that only exists in big cities? What? Also, what do you want from equality? You can get a job, you can be in politics, you're pampered by the law and community, and you can be head of companies. Why? Early feminists. So what are you fighting for?
Domestic abuse is something that plainly exists but not everyone personally encounters. Just because you personally are not aware you've come into contact with the issue, it doesn't mean the issue doesn't exist.
No, inequality is not only in big cities. It is a widespread, wide-ranging issue. However, simple logic decrees that where there are more people, such as in big cities with denser populations, there are far more opportunities for inequality to rear its ugly head.
There are still plenty of rights and issues to fight for regarding sexual inequality - frankly, too many to list and go into detail about here. However, modern feminism has a global focus - and in places such as the Middle East and Asia, there is still much to be done to stop the social acceptance of assault, rape, murder and the idea of ownership of a person just because of their gender. That's what we're fighting for.

So you protest on the internet and in America where that does absolutely nothing in the middle east and asia? Its like charities that raise awareness for cancer. We're all perfectly aware of cancer. Very few of those organizations donate money to the betterment of cancer treatment but rather to there own benefit. Therefore feminism in the US is useless in the grand scale of the world. Feminism in the US a way to make yourself look better.
You have no idea what we do. You just seem very unaware of the issues and the work that's being done. Look up Shirin Neshat. Look up Caitlin Moran. Both famous feminist working for change. Both are my personal heroes. Neither is American.

I do not protest in America, no - for I am neither American nor living in America.
Instead, Internet protests (the many forms these appear in) can make a difference - they put pressures on governments to use influences they have to try and implement change overseas and in foreign countries.
However, I would also argue your point that "feminism in the US is useless"; any effort to implement equality is useful, regardless of geographical location. Human rights are human rights, no matter where you are.

The internet is completely different for each country and region. Its nearly impossible for any country to see things from the US internet. I also severely doubt anything that American citizens put on the internet, especially women will entice governments to put sanctions against what is being done in there countries. Especially if it has anything to do with there culture and religion.

Blimey, for someone who claims their "comments reflect knowledge and neutral understanding", you're rather obtuse. You ask pointless questions, show an astounding lack of common sense and, while you claim you "incite debate", you just write a litany of illiterate, short-sighted and narrow-minded sentences.
It's pointless 'debating' things with you because you don't respond; you simply fire off more poorly thought-through, often irrelevant, statements and questions.

Thank you, Jesus. I for one was getting sick of the pseudo-intellectual nonsense he keeps spouting.
Also, if you want an example of how anyone personally has been oppressed, I'll tell you a story: when I was a kid, my grandfather molested me. It was never anything below the belt, and so in my child's mind, I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. When I was seventeen, he took it farther. I didn't dare say anything until I was 18, and then only because I was worried he might do the same to my little sister, all the while he'd kept taking it step-by-step farther and farther. I finally took it to the police, but since they know my grandfather, they pushed it aside as me just trying to get back at him or something.
It wouldn't be any less awful if it was reversed in gender, and it could theoretically happen, except they knew him through church. He was a priest, which is something that only men can attain in their religion. Because women should watch the kids, while men make the decisions.
My best friend was raped by her boyfriend, but because they were in a relationship, no one
agreed that it could be rape. Because obviously, if someone is in a romantic relationship with someone, there's no way they couldn't want sex. Even if they were fifteen years old. She's been called a slut and a whore for having a child when she never even wanted to have sex. That's why I'm a feminist, and for the billions of men and women who deserve to see their mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and selves as equals of their husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, and selves.

I will effectively be removing myself from funsubstance tonight. Also, thank you to the anonymous feminist/misandrist who laid threats unto my well being and my families. You have now furthered my distrust of the people with which you represent. To the rest of you, live your life to the fullest and good luck to everyone. Good bye.
