It's the twenty first century why can't we fully emerge ourselves in a game (without the death factor) like sword art online?

Because it could be as horrible as it did in Sword Art Online? You know, our brains being fried.

That's why they would have to do something to make it more secure, like they did for the second game they play in SaO (alfheim) it's just that i would love the feel of actually swinging my sword ands attacking enemies and being able to talk to people and it just seems over all awesome.
