Don't plants respirate CO2 and give off oxygen? Wouldn't that make us symbiotic? I vaguely remember seeing something like that in a class at some point.

The creation of paper plates uses a lot of water, combined with a great number of other resources to package them and ship them to a store near you. Ceramic is certainly a winner. Also, it's not a bad thing to be an environmentalist.
