Is that crow named........ARCHIMEDES?
(See is dubble meening cuz tf2 archimedes is white bird and greek science dude was also archimedes and he founded the wayz for finding the heaviness of stuff in bathtubs :D)
Crows have been observed dropping hard nuts onto the road so that cars run over them and cracks them open.
They also observed that after some time they started dropping the nuts in front of traficlights, because then the cars would stop, and the crows could safely eat the nut .

I'm not saying crows are stupid, they probably understand the "act-consequence" law. What i'm saying is that when they do it, they are not thinking about the physics' law that states that any volume introduced in a liquid enviroment will move it, but instead "if i did/saw something similar in x case, this might work here". And because it actually works, they repeat it thinking it will work next time too.
You do no need to understand physics to learn how the physical world works. As a baby we do not know what gravity is, but we do learn that if we go past the edge of the couch we will fall.

That's understanding an "act-consequence" relation, as i said before.
And I assume the downvotes are because i said it was trained: Trained not only means someone has teached it to do it. Trained also means it has learned a way of behaviour via any kind of learning method, such as enviromental (parents, other species), try and error, etc.
I never down vote anyone. And you're using a loose definition of the word. Either way it doesn't matter whether it was trained or learned this on its own, this gif demonstrates that animals are smarter than most of us give them credit for.

I was talking in general, not saying that you downvoted me :)
And I agree that animals are not "stupid". In fact part of the class of phsycology I took last year was based on studies on animals (which later were transported to the human way of reasoning).
But it really surprised me the downvotes because i said a crow does not understand physiscs xD.
Like, come on people, I have seen really stupid reasons of hate. But this? lol.
I'm currently taking an animal behavior class, I just didn't want to get into the specifics because I literally just finished taking an exam over animal learning and I am burnt out.
