Well, I like the fact that he writes his own songs AND some other artist's songs. For me, it really has nothing to do with looks, although because I love his music so much, it makes him more attractive to me. Plus, from what I heard he is a generally nice guy so that's some extra points.

He writes beautifully, and not about some girl's ass. Ed just seems like a really good guy.
