Just a background story for anyone who doesn't know: Nathan Cirillo was standing on guard at Parliament Hill by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (depicted in the cartoon) and was unceremoniously shot and killed while unarmed. The cartoon shows the soldiers from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier bending down and trying to help their fallen brother.
Nathan was one of my neighbours. He was honestly one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He used to walk his dogs in the park by our houses and sometimes we would have a chat and let our dogs socialize. I dropped off a soldier doll at his house today for his son. So his dad can always be with him. RIP Nathan. Sorry I always called you Frank, I'm bad with names
I'm guessing you're being downvoted because people think you're full of shit.

Uhm ok I don't really care if thy believe me. I didn't post it to get attention. I just wanted people to know that he was more than just a soldier. He was a father, son, friend, dog lover, and the nicest neighbour you could ask for. He was a person, not just a name in the paper. And he will be sorely missed
I was in school when this happened, when we heard the news everyone started freaking out thinking there was going to be a big terrorist attack, it was pretty scary.
God I hate when stuff like this happens, makes me feel like shit. May the poor soldier rest in heaven, and may his killer burn in hell
POS isis sympathizer. The mentally ill guy was the one who attacked the NYC cops with a hatchet earlier this week.

Ok for those sending the rude messages to me, calling him frank was our joke. When he introduced himself to me he gave me his full name. Frank is his middle name and I always forgot his first name. So I just called him frank and he was cool with it
I'm so sorry you lost your friend. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the photos of his dogs waiting for him to come home. It's all so heartbreaking.
I was feeling okay, but now I'm crying.
This is the reason why I hate people in general, because you never expect them to do something horrible, and then when it happens you realise that it can happen anywhere, and that it does happen everywhere. Don't hate me for saying this, but something like this may happen again soon because of the media coverage. For example, school massacres that happen and then get televised over the roof are more likely to trigger others susceptible people to go out and commit the same crime. I'm gonna just stop now. I'm sorry. My heart is with everyone affected by this tragedy.
Rest in Peace.
