Obesity isn't a disease. It can be a side effect, but saying it's a disease implies the body naturally produces excessive fat or that some infection naturally produces excessive fat in its host, with no other cause, side effect, or intervention of any kind.

it's not a disease of the entire body so much as the mind. We are all attracted to sweets and salty things, but we eventually reach a point where we need more and more to satisfy us. Obese people, be it through passing down a trait of needing more of the substances or having consumed too much in the past, are unable to ever again enjoy a healthy diet, so the cycle continues.
