When I did something bad, my mother would make me do the "cockroach" where you have to lay on your back and put your arms and legs straight up and sit like that for like 20 minutes

my parents are the type that see a kid throwing a tantrum and comment "i'd give em a good smack if I were their parent." and yet these are the parents who had a daughter who communicated through screams, grunts and ruined her aunt's wedding and never dreamed of beating
