If only that was the majority and not the minority of black people

People are so afraid of being racist, they start doing anti-racism. favouring because of skin colour... Or wait, isnt that racism towards the others too..?

Maybe, just MAYBE, it does not work like this in a majority of cases. And it's still racism from us white people, and fucking condescending. Maybe it's time for real change.

hmm, I think you're right, we do need real change..
My little sister, despite growing up in the same neighborhood as me, having parents that make the same amount as mine do, and having the same grades and test scores, would be able to go to college for cheaper than I would, and more easily, because she's black, and I'm white. It seems kind of strange to me that people should be given things just because fewer people of their race get degrees. If someone's poor, give them help, that seems easy enough to me. Stop asking what race people are on applications, that way you can't judge it one way or the other. That's my opinion, anyway.
while it is true that its unfair to positively discriminate the number or black students and especially professors is really low here in the UK. I think its something like 1 professor for every 2 uni,s. Keep in mid that each uni has like 150+ professors. Positive discrimination might not be the best or most fair answer but its helping to keep numbers fairly constant in England at least
Its "helping to keep numbers fairly constant"? Do you realize how absurd that logic is? I would think that the goal would be to put the most qualified people in the positions who help grow our youth (regardless of race!!). "I dont care how much our children learn as long as their being taught by a group of people with a socially acceptable array of skin color"..... does that seems like a reasonable statement to some people?
That's obviously not what I meant. The idea is to ensure that in the future the best qualified are a diverse pool of individuals. Bare in mind that positive discrimination works in favour of all types of groups here in the UK such as young people with disabilities, those with parents who earn under 25K, females (some courses that have a large male majority offer cash intensives to female), people who are in the care system and also race. The system wasn't always like this so that obviously implies that without positive discrimination a disproportionally low number of these applicants would ever get the chance to get qualified and apply for high paying professional roles in the first place.
It just seems a little crazy that if someone isn't interested enough to pursue it without a cash incentive they should be given just to ensure that things are diverse. I wouldn't want to learn from someone who had to be paid to follow a career path, the ones who are interested enough to follow it on their own are usually the best because they're the most driven...

Wow here's a crazy idea! Honey bees who sting to protect their hives are the insect version of WWII Japanese kamikaze pilots
The writer of this comment should take into consideration that this comment comes off as quite ignorant. Some may perceive it as some sort of assumption that black people do not have to try as hard as white people to receive the same recognition. I understand that IN SOME CASES this happens Becaus elf their race. I also understand that IN FEW CASES black people are chosen over whites for racial quotas.
HOWEVER, most of what was said in this statement was false. Please do continue life thinking that black people are grateful for "positive" stereotypes; this is the 21st century. And the idea that black people are being let into schools more easily? I am actually impressed you were able to come up with something so insolent. The amount of discrimination evens that out with ease, although none of the two should happen. Neither are necessary, neither are helpful. Where is the proof that blacks can't be as succesful as whites without extra help? So we can't succeed without you saying so?
The reason there are advantages for minorities at universities is because of the incredibly low percentage that reach higher education in the first place
Personally wish there was no 'minority' tag. Nowhere in life did you sign a form that says 'life will be fair'. You're born where you are and either you make the most of it, or you don't. Yes, for some it's a heck of a lot harder, but that doesn't make it impossible. That's just life.
