If you want a guy who's tall don't be mad if he wants someone who's skinny. Reminds me of the don't expect and ambercrombie model if you aren't a Victoria's secret model.
She didn't ask him his weight, which would be considered rude and pushy even if a woman asks a man. The "double standard" would be if he asked her her height and she got offended, which I don't think would have occurred. Maybe she's tall and tired of dating men shorter than she is.
Ok so I'm going to try to explain the difference and why this is NOT a double standard in a non-condescending way;
Girls don't want a man who's 'tall'. There isn't some magical cutoff line between 'tall' and 'not tall' that most guys fall under but some very lucky guys surpass, which is how weight works. What girls want is a man who's taller THAN THEM. Does that give 'tall' guys an unfair advantage? Yes, although I'm not sure a girl would want a boyfriend who towers over like a foot taller than them either, so this is debatable. But if the boy is shorter, there are plenty of attractive shorter women who'll consider him tall, because they don't want some abstract concept of 'tall', they just want a boyfriend who's taller than they are.
This however is NOT the case with weight. Guys want skinny girls and there is a very culturally defined concept of skinny. It doesn't matter the weight of the man, 'skinny' remains the same and only a minority of girls qualify for the label.

There are guys that prefer more chubby girls, "medium" sized girls, skinny ones..
You cannot say "everyone likes this" or "everyone does that" because it will not be true.
Thats like saying guys want girls that weigh less THAN THEM. There is no "magic cutoff line between 'fat' and 'not fat'. Sure it may be the case some of the time, but that doesn't make it true all the time. Weight is also something that you can actively change without surgery. You can't just decide to work on getting taller. Also, I've seen plenty of women marry guys over a foot taller than them. I've also seen quite a few marry a guy who happened to be shorter than them. So your full of shit.
Um. She could be asking to see if he's tall enough to reach something high up with ease. I asked my friends who's tallest so that they could paint the corner edging of my room. I was too short without getting a step stool but with the stairwell, it was too dangerous.
This past month, we had to have the tall people take down and put up the smoke alarms, since they were chirping and it was daylight savings time. Which means, time to change the alarm batteries. I ended up borrowing a kid and he rode around the house on my shoulders getting the smoke & carbon monoxide detectors.
All this debate about whether or not double standards apply here remind me of how English teachers try to insert all this meaning in Shakespeare or whatnot
men: *oppress and sexualize women for centuries*
Men: *have specific requirements for a woman's appearance*
Women: *express interest in a specific make trait*
Men: HOW DARE YOU I CANT BELIEVE YOU WOULD BE SO SHALLOW WOMEN ARE THE WORST!!!!
