MUST. RESIST. URGE. TO. BANG. HEAD. ON. NEAREST. HARD. SURFACE. Okay, for the record, I know this is a joke, however, I know a little too much about the inner workings of a restaurant to let it slide. There is no way on the planet for the plate on the left to cost only two dollars, without knowing the specific cut of meat used, I'm going to say it probably costs the customer $10-$15 to eat. So, I can tell you that there is no way for the dish on the right to cost $149... Even if it was a cheap cut of meat, it still probably cost the chef $5 to prepare, (maybe more), however, there is a little thing called food cost, which, for a dish like this, ranges anywhere from 15-33% of the total price. So, to ruin the joke even further, the dish on the right, though identical to the left besides the parsley, could've been made with a more expensive cut of meat, and a lower food cost. Which is why it's so much more expensive.
