here is some enlightenment, the phrase 'god bless you' which you say when someone sneezes (or just 'bless you' as most people say now) comes from the time of the plague in europe. this is because they thought that if you sneezed either you had caught the black plague and you would soon need gods help or they thought that your soul was trying to escape... so either way they thought you were dying if you sneezed...
