I usually wait about when I get there- 1 hour depending on the person I ask my best friend when I get but I would ask my mean aunt after an hour

I usually already have their wifi password or I just make myself at home and they usually give it without asking :)

Recently my family went to a relatives house. They are older folks and I felt it was rude to ask. I searched for he router because it has the password but it turns out they use Apple Airport. So I kinda waited almost 30hours before I had the courage

Usually when I enter someone´s house, it´s because we are supposed to socialize, not checking web sites.
