Actually, the "New World" was named America before Europeans took over. Amerigo Vespucci, a explorer originally from Italy, is the person that found out that what Christopher Colombus thought was India is actually a whole new, unexplored land. He named it America, after his name. This was before the British and the French came. In fact, there was over 100 years difference! (Actually around 150 or so years)
So Guest, when the New World was named America, there was pretty much none, or at least very few Europeans in Norgh America, therefore, the Native in this post is correct in saying that this is the second time that the population of non-white babies surpassed the population of white babies.
