I've seen the first two originals, back in my childhood AND recently. I bought the new one on bluray (well, my wife did) and I thought they did a good job improving on the original idea. Anyone who tells you different may just need to reign in their inner movie-hipster.
It proves a point, a good one. But the times have changed now, the more people guilt the younger generation on things like this the more it holds us back out of guilt and shame. Yeah, the raping and killing still happens, but people like that might never see or experience things like that. Besides, it's someone else's child hood now.
And I liked the new robo cop (yes iv seen the originals)
