Although, is it even possible that there was a beginning in the first place? Can something just come into existence and start/make literally everything? I can't even begin to fathom a universe that doesn't even exist. Nothingness is nothing, yet it's near impossible to imagine.
Exactly, which it what makes it so frightening. This and the possibility of a superior being who created all and decides all.. both are things that are truly horrifying to think about.
okay please no hate but: I believe in both religion and evolution. Like I believe in evolution, but I believe it was all planned out by God. and of course that answers where the Big Bang came from: God. I just think it's hard to believe that everything just randomly exploded into perfection on accident. but it's easy to believe God was thinking, "how can I start the universe? BOOM"
My problem with god is the same as the problem stated here (what was there before God, you cannot just find a solution like that). It seems to boil down to these, we are human being we do not know everything but the religious people say there is a cause for any phenomenon, and so they reach God at the end of the line but the problem is that you cannot do that. That's not a solution, that complicates things ever more, who made God, what was before him. To say that there was only god and nothing else at the beginning is simply equal to saying there was nothing there. Frankly, saying that some extraterrestrial beings started everything on earth is more likely than God.
I know there are many intricacies with the big bang but as I said you should think of it as very small physics (explained above) not the usual one. atomic-scale physics is completely different from the usual physics. Hence, many different things happen that cannot be readily explained, for example some scientists did an experiment: they sent an electron from a source to touch the other end but the energy was not enough to reach there. They witnessed the electron finished its energy and then gained enough energy from nowhere and reached the destination. I could not find the url but if I do I will post it here. Thanks
Only on funsubstance can you see a range of talking the comments from, political debates, sexual innuendos, internet arguments, and here-now, the talk of the creation of the universe. Thank you, Funsubstance.
technically all of the universal evidence theories need evidence. we have never proved anything. and I guess the only evidence is the Bible. literally, there are actual Bible verses that I've read that describe Him as energy. google it! (also thanks for not hating)
(on a random side note) I remeber in 8th grade science, I was in public school so they follow non religious viewpoint teachings because it's public school. I remeber them saying life started on earth because cells evolved from rocks or the atoms in the rocks or something. It just sounds so stupid.
They don't have it right exactly. In fact, I don't think the scientists have a theory for how life was created in the first place. Proteins and other chemicals essential for life can be created in natural conditions, including Guanine, Adenine, Cytosine, and Thymine, but it's a long ways from forming life.
Actually, life forms very quickly. When you cut your finger, the smallest parts of your skin can become independent life forms and start copying themselves if they can get into a desirable environment.
The scientists have many more details about it and it is straightforward when you get it, the problem is that it is science and needs studying at least two or three books before understanding it.
On a side note, all our lives we have been hearing about the religious explanations so they are pretty simple in our minds since we are completely familiar with them. We need to read more books to understand evolution, natural selection and things like that. The problem is God is not a good explanation at all.
God isn't a good explanation. However, skin is already living. We're talking about life rising from where there wasn't any at all. At the moment, we don't have a concrete enough answer to say for sure that "it happened this way". We have theories, and are working hard to prove them, but as of yet, we are unable to make cells from chemical components.
There are two explanations: 1- There may have been nothing or 2- the universe goes through an expansion-compression cycle (before the big bang there was the universe finishing its compression and then the expansion started at that moment) In order to understand the big bang completely you should think of atoms (at the time of t=0, the world was compressed with infinite density and infinite mass but in a near-zero volume)
At first, there was just God. Nothing before Him.Read Genesis to get more info. Then he created the universe. He put all the stars in place and knows them by name. He put every planet, star, everything. He knew about you and me and everyone before we were even born and He has a plan for every one of our lives. People say, if my life is so bad why doesn't God make it better? Why doesn't he do one of his miracles then? If my life is like this why hasn't he made himself clear to me or tried to help me? Then how is he such a loving God? But you don't even know. He is loving and he loves everyone even if you don't acknowledge it. You haven't seen him in your life because you never have gone to him about anything. He has been in your life but you're too blind to realize it. You just have to open your eyes and realize it. If you do turn to him when you're having a hard time, you'll begin to see how much he really does do. It's amazing and I hope everyone can come to realize His love and power.
okay everyone has different opinions and I respect them all. let's act like adults. this is no place to be just plain rude, fella. seriously that's not the way to encourage polite and intriguing conversations on religion and creation stories.
