Whenever I see brightly colored solutions in beakers in stock photos

Plot twist: they're making Kool Aid.

Are they midgets or are they doing an experiment on a really high table? If they are kneeling down, why are they kneeling down?

Organic chemistry and microbiology are like this! Not quite so many colors, but there's definitely colorful solutions in beakers and test tubes. (:
