My actually unpopular opinion on the friendzone

i am this close ------------- to have a relationship with my crush. We are having this prom on school and he asked me, so naturally i said yes. but the proms we have in norwegian are not as big as in USA. our teacher said we didn´t have to ask enybody, but still he did. And i think you need a lot of courage to do that. Yet none of my friends are going to the prom with a boy...do you think i made a mistake saying yes?

there's a girl that I've had a crush on her since we first met when we where 5. but she's just not into me, I know this through extensive research and lots of "frendzoned" gossiping (I'm a girl and Bi). She tells me about the guys she likes and I've met a few. She was recently dumped and cried on my shoulder. Even if I can't have her, I want to be thee for her, even if I can't be the one for her, I will always be there to treat her like a queen when those dirt-bags forget about the amassing things they've got.

I dont even have the guts to talk to him often.
