We had hermit crabs when I was little, I only saw this once, but it was creepy as hell... Of course that was before days of the internet, so we had no clue what was happening

I did a 3 month investigation and analysis of hermit crabs for my biology class last semester and it was easily the most boring project I've ever had to do. It was a behavioral study and while they're molting they literally do nothing. My day to day data table basically consisted of terms such as "buried" or "dormant."
