Because the trees we use for Christmas are farm raised there are 100x more alive and growing today than there were a century ago.

I think your all missing the point here, it's about the environment.....you know that thing you live in?......you plants and trees help you breath, planting one not just to kill and put in your house.....

Yes and were all fine, the seas not rising and the earths not heating up. We're loosing forests at a phenomenal rate, which arnt be replanted. Do some research, old growth forests ( the ones we need to be able to breath and have clean water) are being torn down for non indigenous plantations which in the first few years of growth actually produce carbon. We need less plantations and more old growth/native forests.

We usually plant 5:1 or even more. Our own Christmas tree this year was not one we harvested, but rather one that broke off in a storm.

Why do people want to waste money every year with a christmas tree, besides having to deal qith the insects and dirt that having a tree in your house brings? Here we use plastic trees, so please explain, i seriously don't get why you would go through that

It's just a tradition, I guess. And it smells way better. Some people use fake trees, but real ones are agreed, mostly, to be better.

We have a Christmas Tree farm, we plant more than we harvest every year. Sales are awful lately because of those awful unnatural, synthetic, non biodegradable, petroleum based trees on the market.

Badasslatina where are you from? I'm from Mexico and I'd say it's not that common to use a plastic tree. And I've never in my 20 years had issues with insects because of them
