Feel entirely free to reference those assertions, mate. Until then, it's your opinion and nothing else.

"In addition to the use of four classical elements in the series, the fighting styles associated with each element are derived from different styles of Chinese martial arts, for which the film-makers employed Sifu Kisu of the Harmonious Fist Chinese Athletic Association as a consultant.[39] Each fighting style was chosen to represent the element it projected. T'ai chi was used for "Waterbending" in the series, which focuses on alignment, body structure, breath, and visualization. Hung Gar was used for "Earthbending" in the series, and was chosen for its firmly rooted stances and powerful strikes to present the solid nature of earth. Northern Shaolin, which uses strong arm and leg movements was used to represent "Firebending". Ba Gua, which uses dynamic circular movements and quick directional changes, was used for "Airbending".[17][40][41] The only exception to these styles is Toph, who can be seen practicing a Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis style.[42]" here you are, from wikipedia

...*everyone* knows you do not use Wikipedia as a source. Do you actually have a source where the creators of the series say that themselves?

Hexy, my classmates and I spent months practicing these styles of martial arts, for when we formed A:TLA for our yearly drama performance. I can verify badasslatina's citations. Dunno why you're throwing such a hissy fit about this.
