The main problem I have with the new show is in the original, SpongeBob wasn't dumb or not even a little dim witted; He was naive, and childish. Patrick was dumb, but not destructive. Squidward was mean, but evenly got what he deserved through lessons and small slapstick. Mr. Krabs was cheap, but caring. Sandy was smart and inventive. Now, SpongeBob is a damn idiot, Patrick might as well blow up half the town, Squidward is consistently abused, Krabs is annoyingly abusive, and Sandy... Is like constantly on her time of the month and Is always angry. Ugh.
It's not the show. It's us. When we were kids we saw the good things as well as the bad ones. Now, that we grow up and saw the reality and cruelty of the world, we stopped seeing the things that make thoose characters so lovable and enjoyable. We started seeing just the bad side of the coin.
No, it really isn't us. Kids aren't into animal abuse (Pet Sitter Pat). Kids aren't into gruesome toenail scenes. (House Fancy) Kids aren't into splinters that drop pus in eyes (The Splinter). Name 5 good modern episodes.
Well then.....I think I've watched the old episodes of sponge bob. Again.( and i was so sure they were the right ones!!!!) Although if the new ones are as bad as you say, then I'm happy I missed them and thank gods I wasn't born in this generation!!!
HEY! I still like spongebob!! You're just growing up and have a new taste in television. Maybe Spongebob Squarepants is for the new generation of kids :)

Family Guy and The Simpsons suck now. South Park is the only show on your list that is at least still watchable
and you can't scream and tell someone to calm down simulataneously.
