Honestly, I don't have depth perception (parallel parking is pretty much impossible), but I've been to 3D movies and nothing "rewired" miraculously.
You two have different brains. It could've worked for him but not you. Like certain medicines don't work on some people, but they work on other people.
Maybe he just wanted to see the movie. C'mon he must have watched normal movies his whole life or tv even with his eyes like that. 3D is no different except you need glasses
