I don't see which point they are trying to make/what their goal is in creating this video. BEFORE YOU DOWNVOTE ME READ THe WHOLE THING. I don't understand. Are they saying that it is more accepted that black children are abused? People will help a white child but won't help a black child? I don't see their point or what they were trying to prove. Can someone explain?
Yes I think thats the thing they want to point out. There were a lot of poeple helping first child but like noone helping the second. They relate this to the skin colour.
Even though this video has a valid point, I'd preferably have seen the shooting of both the first and second abuse in the same setting. Might be that the differences are smaller or even larger in that case. Either way, a better comparison would be possible.
This is horrible and it shouldn't happen at all, but I'd like to point out one thing. I love this kind of social experiments, but I sometimes doubt about their legitimacy. Why did they change places? Why didn't they shoot both scenarios with the same kind of people around. It's just hard for me to imagine all this people who stood up for the white kid wouldn't do the same for the black kid.

This is ridiculous. You can film as much footage as you want and edit it to show any result. Who's to know that they didn't have to film for 100 hours to get those 2 minutes of the white kid being helped? And how do we know they didn't just cut out every time somebody tried to help the black kid and they only edited in the pieces where nobody was helping? Also why did they change the setting? It should be the same "types" of people for both scenarios which means you kinda need to be in the same place. Another thing was the black dad was a good deal bigger than the white dad. Ya, in a perfect world it wouldn't make a difference, but a lot of guys aren't going to try to step up to stop something if they believe doing so would get their ass beat. Notice that most of the guys that stopped the white dad were bigger than him and just straight up told him stop or I'll hit you. It takes a much bigger (physically) man to do that for the black dad.
it's a good point to be making and i defo shed a tear over it, but as a social experiment it's so unethical. That child who was being carried by his dad saw it and has probably changed his view on a lot of things forever! also there were far too many variables for it to be a solid experiment and for the results to stand solid.
Look closely at the environments each family was filmed in... To show an unbiased approach to the experiment, each family should have been portrayed in equal environments. Truth is abuse occurs across the board racially. It may be statistically proven that African American and Hispanic families are more likely to use corporal punishment, but that does not necessarily constitute the type of violence portrayed in this particular experiment. Regardless of your personal belief of the use of corporal punishment and exactly how it is defined, abuse is abuse so report anything that doesn't look kosher. The law will intervene and the truth will be sought and you will have done the most that you can do to protect the innocent.
Contrast the two downsides of the situation. With the white family, the guy might hit you if you interefere, call you names, other such stuff. With a black family, it's all that PLUS other stuff. If some Racial Activist sees you interefere or sees a recording of it later (Youtube, etc.), he might criticize that action on the media, some group might portray it as racist, somebody could release your name and home address, another community activist might insist that your employer fire you or face a big boycott and media smear (even though the incident has nothing to do with where you work). Stuff like that happens when someone uses the N word. Well, not just anybody, but a white person (who might have just been quoting rap lyrics.) Or, if someone says something accurate, but a segment of people purposely wants to misunderstand it to advance an agenda. And all that is just from WORDS...imagine if some white guy pushed the black dad, or pushed the wife down (the way the black guy did to th
