No, because the number "five hundred" is represented by the letter "D" and "ten" by "X". So by the Roman math system "XD" would mean D-X, or 500-10=490

By the Roman math system you don't subtract a value from another value that is more than 10 times greater. X can not be subtracted from anything higher than C. For the same reason today's game is "Super Bowl XLIX" and not "Super Bowl IL." agustinmlt is correct.
