Actually, 99% of the oxygen we breathe is made by algae in the pacific ocean. Even if the rainforest were destroyed we would be able to breathe just fine. Not that that that would be good, I'm just sayin.

It would still be pretty bad. The ecosystem would get thrown out of whack, and many species would definitely die. We would have no more chocolate, as well.

We also need to get the CO2 off of our planet, or out of the air. It would also be great if it didn't take electricity. So, something that is capable of creating and sustaining a chemical reaction that creates oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide without using power. Gee, I wonder if there is such a thing that could do that?

There are currently more trees in the world than there were when Columbus got lost. The rain forests are just fine.
